The illustrator behind some of our designs
Every piece in our shop starts somewhere. Some of ours started with Faye Jones, a Stockport-based illustrator who designed a set of pieces for Moncasso back in 2021.
About Faye Jones
Faye Jones is a Stockport-based illustrator who works under the name Spooky Squid. Her regular work spans horror and pop culture illustration, gig posters, and hand printed apparel, sold through conventions and markets across the north west, including a permanent space at RedBrick Market in Liverpool.
The designs she created for Moncasso sit apart from that world entirely: clean botanical linework and metallic leaf studies, made specifically for the wall rather than the wardrobe. It is a reminder that illustrators often carry more than one style.

Faye designed this set for us in 2021, ahead of the direction Moncasso's collections have taken since. We have brought a small selection back into the shop: her gold and silver leaf studies on dark grounds, and a set of minimal line drawings.
